CaLD Professional Network
Introduction
This CaLD Professional Network project is to increase the community participation from the Culturally and Linguistically Diverse (CaLD) groups by hosting a series of career development speak and networking events.
Karratha is a highly isolated city located in the North of Western Australia. Among all the residents, the CaLD groups without having family around have suffered more loneliness than the others, especially when the pandemic hit. Northwest Multicultural Association WA Inc. received feedback from those who have left the city, and we realise that lacking meaningful connections is one of the main reasons that push our residents and local talents away. Hence, we would like to start a project to assist the CaLD people to feel more included.
This project creates a platform for these undervalued CaLD communities to connect with the leading companies and other career development opportunities, meet other professionals from various cultural backgrounds, understand their rights, and know how to seek help and assistance.
